A hard but rewarding water to fish with gin clear water

  • Facebook

Durrants Hill Fishery, an excavation dating back to 1984, is a picturesque 2.75-acre gravel pit complex reserved exclusively for club members and their guests, in accordance with club by-laws. The lake's depth ranges from 3 to 14 feet, providing an ideal habitat for a variety of aquatic life.

Originally stocked with tench weighing over 7 pounds, roach exceeding 2 pounds, and boasting a thriving population of large crucian carp, rudd, pike, and perch, Durrants Hill Fishery has seen continuous improvements over the years. Additional tench, roach, and more recently, bream and carp have been introduced, enhancing the angling experience.

Much like our commitment to the Mere, this water body is closely monitored and stocked, aligning with our club's comprehensive fishery management policy. Anglers can cast their lines with a range of baits, from boilies and bread to sweetcorn, maggot, caster, and lobworm, promising excellent opportunities to reel in some remarkable perch.

Thanks to its spring-fed waters, Durrants Hill Fishery maintains a consistent temperature year-round, ensuring prime fishing conditions even during the coldest months when many lakes freeze over. Members enjoy the convenience of secure car parking facilities within the lake's perimeter, making every fishing excursion hassle-free.
